RILEY

Riley enters the scene in the premiere episode of season four "The Freshman" as the Psychology Teacher's assistant.  He first meets Buffy in the library where she accidentally drops a stack of books on his head.  At first, he seemed to have more in common with Willow, but he has since seen  more of Buffy.

Riley is a member of a secret operation called "The Initiative".  With Professor Walsh as their leader, the group captures vampires and experiments on them. As Riley grew closer to Buffy they found it hard to keep their identities secret.  They finally run into each other on the job and they have to deal with their revealed secrets.

Riley left town with the Initiative after he realized that Buffy didn't love him.
