Sarah Michelle Gellar knows how to get her hooks into her man, actor Freddie Prinze Jr.

First, she treated him to a $US10,000 Shopping spree on Rodeo Drive in Beverley Hills, spending big bucks on clothes and leather goods at Louis Vuitton.

Gellar also threw down five grand on handbags for herself.

Then she had one of her flunkies pull strings to secure a brand new Motorola Mobile Phone - not yet available to the public - as a special gift for Prinze.

The Catch: Only she knows the number to his phone - so it's her personal hotline only!

Rude Rebuff Slays Buffy

Freddie Prinze Jr slayed Sarah Michelle Gellar after she told her bosses she'd get her up-and-coming movie star boyfriend to do a guest spot on the show.

Of course, the bosses love the idea.  Real-life crossovers have helped ratings on Friends and Law And Order.

Trouble is, Prinze Jr, hated it and turned Buffy down flat!

Prinze, Jr, said he wants to do movies, not television.
